I actually second this. Once on Reach Heroic I felt on trying new weapons and using the Spiker was better against shields than the AR. Marginally better and I wouldn't use it on Legendary but it just highlights to me how many weapons are outclassed by the DMR AND how many weapons outclass the AR at the same time.
It's sad. Anyone here ever play FF7? You know how pic is supposed to be a super iconic weapon but in game it's a starter weapon everyone drops once they get Cloud anything else? That's the feeling I get with the Halo AR.
