Shields are meh, but I have never been a fan of shields in any game ever. Shotguns a fine. The archetype I love. Not for its power or utility (it's not the most powerful archetype), but for how much attention and care they gave it. It's the only archetype in the game with reactivity and content outside of combat mechanics. It's fucking great
