NTA but modern AI research goes one of two ways.

First way and IMO the more likely, LLMs are a technological dead end afterall. when the fossils finally realise they're never going to deliver the necessary ROI to recoup the obscene amount of money already spent on them they stop investing, venture capital dries up, half the mag 7 valuation craters all at once, that fucks the economy and starts another recession.

When that happens it won't be tech bros paying back investors, it'll be the American people (again), we get to live through another once in a lifetime financial disaster and life goes on.

The second less likely path is that LLMs and associated research turn out to be the Holy grail after all. The moment that happens every office job on earth evaporates. Mass unemployment, crime, civil unrest and starvation follow. To combat this government's reach for algorithmic solutions and reach out to ghouls like Peter Thiel who use LLMs to minority report people.

After THAT happens you can pretty much pick your favourite dystopian science fiction premise and assume thats were we end up. The specifics of the shape of the horrible future don't really matter at that point.

Also I'm more or less certain AI use in GW was widespread before 3.0 even happened, I've certainly read a lot of lore text recently that seems either AI generated or excessively stupid. Not necessarily the content but certainly the delivery.
