Only Phoenix Termies have 2 attacks. So I wondered, but why? They literally have AP3 weapons; they easily die to many other ranged or melee units, and they don't really have any ranged firepower. They only have their partial +1 WS ability that isn't really that good without Shriekers anymore. WAIT, THEY JUST FUCKING REMOVED ONE ATTACK BECAUSE THEY NOW HAVE THAT ABILITY WITHOUT ATTACK PENALTY. HOLY FUCK. It's shit like this that makes me lose faith in GW game designers. It was a niche thing that was used in conjunction with -1 to hit from shriekers and another rule that counted a draw as a victory. It was a fluffy and interesting EC mechanic. Now they just removed -1 to hit from shriekers and removed Living Icons' ability to simplify the game, and then they "OPTIMIZED" the -1 attack from the 2.0 Skill Unmatched ability into the default profile. It's insane how stupid some of their decisions are.

I'm honestly just pissed off that they made Bayonets completely useless. They've always been a suboptimal use of points but +1 strength in melee for your bolter/lasgun troops combined with +1 attack on the charge meant you could get some melee utility out of a tactical squad at least.

Now charge bonus is gone and bayonets are a miserable S: user AP: 5. Unless you're fighting militia there's zero difference between a soldier with a bayonet and a soldier without one, its an actual waste of points over just using the basic CCW everyone has.

It's actually a complete inversion. For 2.0 a lot of people started off wary or negative and gradually came on board as more info was revealed. With 3.0 people had a lot of assumptions - you know, like it would be a revision rather than a reinvention, or that'd it be written by a vaguely competent human instead of a senile chimp fist-mashing prompts into chatGPT - that made them look forward to the new rules or at least be resigned to them and most discussion was about whether you liked Saturnine minis or not, but every bit of info we've had has soured things more and more and the liber leaks have taken a big stinky shit on almost everyone's gaming table. Honestly, any of them. Since the start legion rules have mostly affected infantry, and besides 1.0 having lots of cheap infantry means shit will live through sheer target saturation and numbers. Most legion agnostic units are more than solid enough on their own, even without legion traits that support them.
Plus having large infantry squads clash over objective markers in the middle of the board looks pure kino, so even if you didn't win you got to take some epic cinematic pictures.

REMEMBER: To salvage all this, the Legacies for marines would have to be as big a the liber itself. There's no way GW would make a free liber-sized PDF for models they don't sell anymore. The missing options are either gone forever or will be paid Journal DLC.
