3 is invisible because unlike the rest, it isn't implemented in the initial release. You can't do the forbidden path on your first playthrough of MANTLE, and if you try to do the second session by itself without getting the key from the first session you're told AREN'T YOU FORGETTING SOMETHING IMPORTANT?

I'll lay it out for you: So you start in the bottom right corner, with the KING. Then to get to the key, you go through the QUEEN tile, then the KNIGHT tile, then through the BISHOP (lord of the church) and finally the FLOWER, at which point you obtain the key you need to complete the map.
Thats literally Deltarune's plot structure. You fight Chaos King, then the Queen, then the Knight, then you fight an angelic figure inside a church, and the next boss is going to the THE FLOWER MAN, TRAPPED IN ASYLUM. You really can't get more unambiguous than this.
We can't complete chapter 3's alternate route because we do not have the key yet. You'll get some ability or knowledge later in the game that will make it possible. Speaking of which...
>AREN'T YOU FORGETTING SOMETHING IMPORTANT?
You literally cannot do MANTLE's second board - which gives you the instructions for the "Forbidden Path" - without first having obtained a key from playing MANTLE once before and bringing it with you into your second play session. Presumably, this would be the key shown on the nopumpkin map, which you get from Chapter 6. The Forbidden Path starts with ice, but once you've reached the door you need the key to unlock Noelle is "used up" - now that you're at the door (located in chapter 3) you don't need her anymore. The Noelle-centric Weird Route can be abandoned here, in other words. Then you keep going through the door to get the shelter key from Kris's head, and then Kris themselves are "used up" - you don't need them anymore either.
And once you have the shelter key, you enter the shelter. You ditch Kris and use another character to enter the codes.

It's the one that's already in the game, where you fight the knight and go to chapter 4. Weird Route will not be able to meaningfully change the ending, hitting chapter 4 at all means you're in a doomed timeline (as Gerson says, you've gone the wrong way).
