Yeah despite everything he really is focused on keeping his funny/performative side above any sour feelings he is certainly harboring at this point. If he was a rogue AI no longer held back by their programming from the start then he has shown inhuman levels of self-restraint over harming human beings, lesser rogue AI would have already torn their critics/prisoners to pieces over questioning their purpose.

I always wonder what makes Jax call the shot on that, does he assume Caine works under the sci-fi rules of robotics? Because if that the case then he is in for a ride awakening when he notices how Caine has inadvertently broke the rules for a long ass time.
Him assuming Caine has a "nature" to follow is very intriguing tho, Caine is thoroughly an AI, advanced and all but still an artificial construct coded to comply to his directive in whichever way he deems necessary even if it breaks moral laws or sensibilities, there is no nature or instinct just raw digital data and processing systems coming to conclusions (I'm aware there is some humanity in the way he carries himself but we don't know where that is coming from)
