Today I realized that the overarching theme of TADC is Gender. Yep.

It's about the pros and cons of feminine inherent passivity/agreeableness, vs inherent masculine assertiveness/combativeness.
The former is soft and nice, but often lets problems grow and persist. It soaks into and becomes one with the problem.
The latter is effective at producing results, but often destroys things in it's path like a stampeding horse, deaf to those around it.

Jax doing anything he can for action, a reaction, a change from whatever dull moment is happening. Caine who's obsessed with keeping control over them and his adventures, and destroys any situation that strays too far from his will.
Kinger, who if we are to take as being alluded to with Mildenhall, who chased a monster until a tragic end - probably approached his work with a white whale mentality, and possibly ended up being one who had such an active force on reality that he managed to create this insane game that they're all stuck in.

But he probably created it with the help or influence of his wife. And it was probably a great game at first, being made with love.

And this is why Zooble is a character that serves to be a bridge between the genders - takes no shit and actively fights back, but empathetic/open to other's feelings and especially protective of the girls.

I also think he genuinely enjoys gangles. In the horror episode when he threw Genghis mask into the scary door he actually thought he was throwing the mask into the not scary door because of what the ghost said. Finally got around to inking and coloring Stuffy here. I wanna note a few things before I ask a few questions about the design itself.
All of the main characters use a lot of blues, reds, purples, and whites with some different accent colors mixed in, so I wanted to incorporate those colors within the design somehow. Using one of them for the main body color would look too garish imo. At the very least, I wanted to keep the main body color bright without being disgustingly saturated (though in hindsight it could use a bit more saturation. It looks more muted than I initially thought.)
As for questions, they are:

Episode 2 he accidentally broke her mask, and made her drive.

Episode 3 he threw her happy mask into what was supposed to be the happy easy adventure door, but the ghost had lied.

Episode 4 he really hated that mask, and was annoying to gangle but not unkind, even after gangle did something awful to him. He wasn't as embarrassed about gangle seeing him like that as he would be about the others he evwb said "I like you better when you're sad" when she started going nuts. Much kinder than drunk ragatha.

Episode 5 he outright is concerned with gangles happiness being so dependent on that mask, and in both his stories he made gangles a major character
