The difference here is that the puppy shitting on the floor won't go and make a world ending tantrum for being told no. You don't get the luxury of criticizing Caine without turning the digital landscape that's serves as your prison and world into pudding, so while what Zooble does to rile him up to change or get more than funny quips back is not the perfect approach, it is something he needs to hear at some point and if it wasn't Zooble (who has been shown to be pretty level headed and tolerant) it would have been someone more rude and/or antagonizing and that would be worse for everyone involved

Unlike Jax, who indirectly disassociates himself from any empathy by the others by being a jerk, Ragatha has a good to decent relationship with everyone else even if her genuineness is debatable she at least tries to play right with everyone else in spite of her history of abuse and self depreciation

Before this spirals into bullshit I'm not saying Jax might abstract I'm just pointing out how lonely he is by comparison and how him compromising his most recent friendship by being socially stupid and inexperienced might be a likely thing to happen

most of Caine's sad stuff is fanon interpretation to be fair. Caine himself never goes out of his way to show his own angst but it's reflected by the circus and how he plays his gags which are becoming more frantic and unhinged, the closest we got of him showing his own distress is the whole morse code from the wacky watch teaser (and even then he downplayed it by going 'omg hi! :)!' )
