It's the thing that Spamton was talking to that made him a BIG SHOT, a kind of Schroedinger's Cheshire cat-thing that brings fortune in money and love that Noelle hatched out of an egg the Tree Man gave her. It's called FRIEND because that's what it's called in the game files when it pops up ominously out of nowhere, we don't know what its real name is. We first saw it in the basement where you fight Spamton NEO during Chapter 2, see pic, and a bunch of stuff from the extra materials on Noelle's blog. Then we got a LOT more information in 3/4.
