>I could "just" switch to linux but I dont feel like learning to code just so I can change my wallpaper
That sounds as stupid of a meme as computer games giving your PC a virus.

>i did all that shit decades ago so i dont know if it's still the case.
It has NEVER been the case, unless you're referring to some 1980s command-prompt-only UNIX.
The normalfag "Windows refugee" distros from the past 15 years or so are all 100% GUI, just as easy to use as older Windows were, with far more customization.
Pic related was my first test run with Linux Mint back in 2020, when "Win7 is kill!!!" fearmongering started.
It was already a pretty gud run, but in the end I just went back to Win7 for the time being.

No, I use Win10 (IOT LTSC Enterprise edition 2021) because I need some very specific programs to do my JOB.
I was on Windows 7, the best operating system ever made, up until late last year, and would still use it had Microcock not butchered the apps we use by essentially removing Win7 compatibility and even cockblocking installation attempts.
For anything else, I could've already managed just fine with Linux ~5 years ago.
