I'm actually kinda sad for Kris.
Forced to work with the Roaring Knight and go along with their bullshit.
Forced to harbor the SOUL because they need it for sealing the fountains and keep up appearances.
And most of the time, it's clear he hates it when he has to get his friends involved, or worse, hurt by his actions.

Alongside the fact that it's implied nothing he does will matter, because trying to undo your actions in the intermission between Chapter 2 and 3 is quickly ruined with what you do to Noelle in Chapter 4. There are many ways that Kris also fights back against the SOUL's control, implying the dialogue choices are actually the SOUL trying to get Kris to say it, rather than what he's actually saying.
The whole "2 voices" thing that Noelle makes a mention of is also evidence towards this. Kris doesn't want this.
Not like the SOUL had a choice. The Vessel it was supposed to get is long-gone for no good reason.

it's specified in the scene itself that Noelle is hearing a 2nd voice, the same one she heard all throughout the "dream"
and when Kris is down in Chapter 2's Snowgrave Route, she notes that she can still hear some sort of voice giving her commands even though Kris is out cold ("I can still hear their voice...")

the voice is not coming out of Kris' mouth, but rather embedding itself into Noelle's mind. this is the reason why the characters can note Kris' emotions during dialogue choices (such as him going "Berdly...? Berdly?! BERDLY?!" and the characters saying he didn't need to repeat himself so hard when he's asked about the festival and you pick Berdly, he's in disbelief that you made him choose that option)
