When you think about it, Sans really isn't in the wrong for treating Kris like that, the guy is a little menace, he's also a traitor and willing to lie to his friends, not even unintentionally like Ralsei does, but he intentionally harbors ill will towards not only susie and ralsei, but the entire world. Susie is of course innocent, as she is cleary the victim of this treachery. Ralsei will follow Kris to the ends of the earth and will never defy him.
So yeah, Kris actually is le bad, he's working against everyone for his own selfish, possibly suicidal reasons.
But yeah, since sans obviously knows about everything thats going on he probably has every reason, you know he has every reason to dunk on Kris, and he gets to fuck toriel, which I mean, isn't anything special, since I bet the entire towns had their run ins with toriel.

I doubt it's that black and white - more likely he SUSPECTS something is up with Kris, but he doesn't know what, so he's getting close to Toriel to keep an eye on Kris while simultaneously making his dislike of Kris very clear. That's partly why I like the idea of Sans telling Kris that Toriel isn't his mother - he'd mean it partly to try and demoralize Kris, and partly to remind Kris that he's a human in a town of monsters, meaning he's the outsider and should be careful with what kind of trouble he causes.

Asgore finding out would be utter cinematic kino, but honestly I think such a situation could provide a really strong redemptive moment for Toriel as well. Her reputation in the fanbase is kind of in the shitter, so if she kicked Sans' ass for hurting Kris I feel like it'd be a good way to win some people back to her side.

That's the real reason why Sans feels off from Undertale. He doesn't have Papyrus to comedically over-react to his antics, and respond with his own kind of funny.

But now Susie plays more of a traditional straight man to Sans, and it just doesn't work properly. Deadpan humor doesn't really work with a straight man, because the joke is predicated on the idea that the one you assume is serious is actually not.

I wonder, regarding what happens in Snowgrave and Weird routes, does Kris actually become terrified of us? It's very clear that he kicks us around in an absolute fit of rage, attempting to even kill himself. But at the same time, he hesitates before he puts the SOUL back in, clearly afraid of the repercussions when its in control.
Alongside that, numerous interactions regarding perfect play (T-Rank, Hitless Knight, etc.) are seemingly Kris making note of how good the SOUL actually is.

Forced to harbor the SOUL because they need it for sealing the fountains and keep up appearances.
And most of the time, it's clear he hates it when he has to get his friends involved, or worse, hurt by his actions.

Alongside the fact that it's implied nothing he does will matter, because trying to undo your actions in the intermission between Chapter 2 and 3 is quickly ruined with what you do to Noelle in Chapter 4. There are many ways that Kris also fights back against the SOUL's control, implying the dialogue choices are actually the SOUL trying to get Kris to say it, rather than what he's actually saying.
The whole "2 voices" thing that Noelle makes a mention of is also evidence towards this. Kris doesn't want this.
Not like the SOUL had a choice. The Vessel it was supposed to get is long-gone for no good reason.

This is my theory:
Asgore was the police captain. While investigating Dess' disappearance, he discovered the conspiracy involving the dark fountains and suspects Carol's involvement. Carol, who as mayor is Asgore's superior, needed to get rid of him for "knowing too much" and came up with some bullshit excuse to kick him off the force and/or force his resignation. While discussing this with Toriel, he accused the Holiday family of foul play and tried to explain the dark world stuff. From Toriel and most of Hometown's perspective, this makes him look like a deranged lunatic who is slandering their family-friends with paranormal nonsense after they suffered the loss of their child just to get back at Carol for (from their perspective) rightfully firing him. This prompted Toriel and Asgore to divorce, and for Asogre to become a subject of pity and contempt from the rest of the town (see: the dialogue from the NPC outside his shop in Chapter 4). Carol financially sustains Asgore out of deference to Rudy (who is still his best friend through all of this), and Asogre is willing to do housekeeping for the Holidays since it gives him an opportunity to keep investigating Carol.

Asogre seems to think that if he proves that he was right all along, Toriel will make up with him and their family will get back together. Its kind of tragic in a way, since even if he is successful in unraveling the conspiracy, Toriel is almost certainly still going to hate his guts.

To me that seems more like evidence for the other way around, but I think it depends on how detailed your instructions are, similar to Undertale. I'm going to start a fresh playthrough from ch1 with the express goal of doing Weird Route and getting all the Shadow Crystals so whatever tips you have would be most helpful
I've already been able to beat Jevil, Spamton NEO, and Gerson, it's just the Knight that barely dicks me over so I clearly need just a bit more OOMPH than my current save file has

According to people in this thread, TwinRibbon is bad actually so maybe swap that out for a LodeStone or RoyalPin.
As far as the fight itself goes, you pretty much never want to attack with Kris or Ralsei. Your goal should be making sure you can use Rude Buster on every turn possible. The speed boost from Hold Breath is permanent so you only need to use it once. If you press [Confirm] right before Rude Buster hits the enemy, it gets a damage boost. This is different from chapters 1 and 2 where all you need to do is get the boost is hit [Confirm] at some point during the animation. You actually have to time it now.

The attacks are always in a fixed sequence, so if you count what turn you are on, you'll know what attacks are next. This can be useful when deciding whether you want to take a turn to heal (if you know an upcoming attack is one you find difficult) or if you can play risky and block for more TP even if your HP is low.

If you lose track, the flavor text will hint at what attack is next unless a party member was downed last turn, in which case it'll be replaced by a flavor line of them going down. Off of the top of my head:
Seeing stars/golden stars: the star beam
Seeing stars with migraine: the stars that turn into homing missiles
Vision narrows: sword tunnel
Vision narrows, world revolving: spin tunnel
Something behind your head: tracking swords
Feel surrounded: Fight Club tracking swords
North/east wind blows: the stalactite attack, direction depending on which way the wind blows. "North and east" will be both directions randomly
Tempest: both directions of stalactite plus the diagonal version
