I have the benefit of having listened to this story for the literal 80+ hours it takes cover to cover more than 10 times. I am not the one mistaken here.

oh and also what trails references? so far the only trails reference is the aurelia teacher and emperor did do. but in terms of actual story content it is way more gruling and edgy, they don't even go through a period of relative calm sharing recipes or going "hmm, I guess this is all I can get for now" when going down the characters back story.
