By far the most fun you could have in a game with Kiseki in it's title

Playing Kai makes me realize how overworked and unmotivated Falcom's staff, especially the writers must be. Every line of dialogue, especially the side quests and NPCs screams overworked and "I don't give a damn anymore." At first I thought it was because I was burned out, so I booted up my fan translated Zero Evo on my VIta, couldn't put it down, the writing felt so much more soulful, despit it being the shitty Flame edit TL. Hell, as bad as Kuro 2 was, but there was at least some soul in it. I feel bad for them. At this point I say put the Kiseki series on a long 5 or so year hiatus and let them work on something fresh and new. Even TX 2 would work. But yeah, put Kiseki on hiatus after Kai 2.

Can someone give me a QRD on the Switch 2's key card system and why people hate it?
All I know is that the game isn't actually on the key card and that the card is basically an empty cartridge that you have to put in the console to download the game and play it.

Not saying this is good. It's shit. But is there more to why people are angry?

I started with Trails in the Sky earlier this year and have played through the trilogy and I'm going through the duology now. It was a good experience. Turbo button really helps. I'd probably wait for Sky 1 remake, and then do Sky 2 and 3 (The 3 games use the same engine/assets for the most part, I feel like 2 suffers a bit from retreading the same locations as 1 but if you play the remake of 1, you won't have that problem)

the soul of kiseki is in the diorama. it's meant to create an experiance of a jrpg world which is inhabited by people who are in a jrpg and reacting to said jrpg, while denying the heroes star power. this is why cassius fucks off in sky fc. he doesn't want to be the hero of liberl. and so its up to all of the people in the setting and world to save it. through out the game it's expected that the player will encounter people and form bonds that will allow them to contribute to the protagonists goals. We see this in sky through the different groups and forces; dissidents from neighboring countries. journos and royalty, orphanage caretakers and colleagues, soldiers and engineers. The games take the time to create a convincing and cohesive diorama of a world, to leaverage it as a means of explaining how each of these characters are contributing in their own way to the salvation of the nation, instead of putting everything on biggus dickus cassius brights shoulder.

This is fundamentally why cold steel is not well regarded. That entire game is the antithesis of the message that was started in sky. the purpose of every npc having their own story line, opinions, and contributions, was reflected in the fact that the protagonists of sky are one among many instead of the destined heroes. This is why when everyone says Estelle you dumbass, you're the leader, she doesn't realize shes the leader. Estelle isn't a sad suck like rean who is constantly doubting herself, it just simply wouldn't occur to her that she was more important than anyone else.
