Feels so weird how there's huge power disparities between skills and their inherited versions

is there an in depth write up on inheritance and inspiration statue events? I heard umas don't like being their own grandparents, what exactly happens if they are? And does it matter if the same uma is in the lineage twice such as on both sides of the family?
