My last few travels have been in western Europe, so I've admittedly gotten complacent and haven't taken any serious security measures.
The most "dangerous" country I've been in was India. What I did there was keep my wallet in my pocket like usual, but I was on constant high alert when I was outside.
If I ever visit South America, Africa, or eastern Europe, I'm probably just gonna carry less than the equivalent of $50 USD cash. These countries are typically low-cost so that amount could probably carry me a long way, and on the off-chance I do get robbed or pickpocketed, it's such a small amount that it wouldn't ruin me financially.

Dude, if I listened to everything /pol/ had to say, I wouldn't even be living in my current country right now.
Also, I voluntarily visited India. Nothing scares me anymore. France would be a walk in the park, even if /pol/ was right.
