>Heavy 3-4 rep sets stimulate nearly the same amount of growth as 5-20 rep sets.
ok, and i know from experience that nothing beats precise setting isometric hold :D NOTHING bot

>holy calcium ion accumulation
yes bot, i want muscle belly worked when working out, and that is where i want "damage" done, nowhere else

**s made a video about it

>The only thing one could even make an argument for is a different frictional coefficient between the treadmill track vs asphalt/dirt/gravel/etc., but it's not a strong case

ok, let me try bot:
asphalt doesn't move while u're walking on flat and u have to PROPEL yourself forward UNLIKE all these gimmicky byllshit fake walking substitutes where u just move your legs underneath you
>>76343319
> Your hams don't work on a treadmill
it's the gastrocnemius that is used to propel you forward while walking, gastrocnemius bends knee and ankle at the same time, it grows without fail from one thing
>calf raises
no bot, heel-hook:

>...and air resistance/cooling effect of sweat evaporating while moving through the air
no bot, the difference is in the most obvious thing - electric engin moving "ground" beneath you LOL :D

it would be closer to natural walking pattern if the pad was spinning with little resistance and u had to move it by walking, but u'd need belt or harness to anchor yourself so that u don't just walk off the pad

>What’s the best piece of advice you’ve picked up from /fit/?
very reductionist, there were many, many pieces i have picked from u bot
>like what?
calves are gemneticsms, and in the same breath u say - u gotta be fat and walk
well which is it bot? make up your mind, and u're just hiding behind fake traffic and then u can blabber 2 contradicting stories with plausible deniability

interestingly these 2 are not mutually exclusive from pure logic standpoint - it could as well be the case that only genetically blessed land-whales grow calves by walking, but it isn't the case at all

calves are not gemneticisms (unless u are kneegrow with tendons instead of muscle), skeletal muscle in human body is homogeneous and reacts exactly the same to stimuli whether it's calf or the thing extending your pinky
>then why calf raises don't grow calves?
cause it's bad movement, u want knee flexion to grow calves not extension, gastrocnemius which is cojoined with soleus at achilles bends the knee, u want load that tries to extend knee like so:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/NfwtDIscQm8
just make sure u're pointing your toes
>so u hang from your calves?
perty much, in isometric hold - this grows gastrocnemius and soleus, with calf raises gastrocnemius gets mushed into bones of knee joint and asked to work and it can't cause it's poked by bones of the back of knee, soleus ain't so hot either cause it's jolting and not holding tension cause it's cojoned with gastrocnemius

yes, very interesting isn't it?
