People's nostalgia blinded them into thinking they'd get the same experience they had when they were kids.
Not even saying this as a 'haha you're all stupid' kinda way. The world and gaming space is just so different these days. We consume media completely differently to how we did all that time ago.

Installed this today and I just found myself being totally uninvested in the setting. Despite being a protag with no memory a whole lot of jargon is tossed at you without it meaning anything, which is a shame given the open-world.
At least I got the new footslut on my first ten roll.
Notice that seems to be a common trend with gachas like this. Star Rail is in outer space, yet it never feels like it.
ZZZ's setting is almost apocalyptic with most of the world wiped out to Hollows, but again it rarely feels like it. There's no sense of urgency to anything.
Why can these gachas never worldbuild right, or am I missing something critical here.
