It has to do with SURVEY_PROGRAM being structued the way it was with the intent of feeling like a standalone story that subverts the expectations of Undertale fans(Toby literally says this in an interview somewhere).
You have to remember at the time, the ending was a TWIST that you were only playing ch1 of a much bigger game. Susie's development didn't feel rushed back in 2018 because that was the entire game. Even with ch2 it spanned like 50% of the game so you didn't notice it very much. But now with ch3&4 it feels like she finished most of her arc at the very beginning of the game and sorta stagnates the rest of the time.
I think Susie, Kris and Ralsei interactions feel more organic in ch3&4 because they've been together for long enough that it makes sense they're all friends now. The main problem is her becoming genuine friends with them should've spanned ch1&2. Heck you could even squeeze in some more Suselle interactions in ch2, have Noelle be the reason why softens up or something.

i think the "inferno of jealousy" will be asgore, but it won't be as simple as
>he sees toriel and sans at the festival and immediately goes LE CRAZY
because that would be boring and feel like a soap opera. instead what i think will happen is
>we follow asgore doing his schizo corkboard shit, he's portrayed as kind of a coping lunatic
>near the end of the chapter we get a major loredump that reveals he's been 100% right all along and whatever happened to dess wasn't his fault
>he shows this to toriel saying "see, now that i've proven my innocence we can be a happy family again!"
>she still doesn't want him back, it doesn't matter that he's right, it's just been too long and her love for him has faded
>he schizoes the fuck out at realizing all his work has been for nothing and asriel is still going to come home to a freak family freak family freak family (his family)
>burns it all down
