>Video Games Europe, an association lobbying in Brussels for the interests of major game developers, is opposing the "Stop Killing Games" petition. We at Volt, on the other hand, are on the side of gamers and citizens. The big game studios want you to be satisfied with not owning your video games. We see it differently and therefore fully support the citizens' initiative "Stop Killing Games", which demands that the products you buy are truly yours.
>The video games that you pay full price for today are often not yours. According to the terms of the contract, the product you buy is only rented and can be taken away from you at any time. This problem does not only apply to video games, but to any digital product. We demand real ownership. It is important to stop this relatively new practice in time. The user should be entitled to the product they paid for. The petition also addresses the problem of server shutdowns, where the product is not directly taken away from you, but it cannot be used anymore.
>Join us and sign the petition in support of this important initiative. Together we can change the rules for the benefit of players and consumers.
