I disagree with your central premise that child exploitation is the story's first and most obvious theme. I'd say, " 'I think' that your central premise of that being the story's first and most obvious theme is wrong," but I think you'd have an even bigger conniption if I said your trigger phrase again.
I further disagree that the damage done to the story (which is zero) overshadows any of the story's merits, and I think that's where we diverge. I think that the elevation of the work that is done by its inclusion of the very things you feel to detract from it overshadows any negatives that come with those elements. If the idea of those elements overshadowing the merits of the story hinges at all upon the notion that they hypocritically contradict some ostensibly central theme of child exploitation, then I disagree even harder insofar as I disagree with that theme being primary or central, but I'd disagree in a vacuum apart from that because I think the elements subjectively provide enough merit to overshadow any drawbacks.
I further think that this discussion suffers from viewing these elements in broad strokes, rather than individually. Taken individually, each "AYO THAT'S SUS" scene really does serve a purpose, and looking at them broadly as having a common element that detracts from some overall theme is purposefully unfair to that.
