Exactly why is something I'm not sure.
I believe it was T6 is when that started to happen, also it was when Lars/Alisa were introduced in which their style of fighting is way more anime than actual grounded in martial arts like the majority of the cast.
The overall tone of Tekken as just dramatically, I mean how do you go from this:
