For me its photo recon.
Even the most famous ever PR pilot Adrian Warburton isn't that well known despite him shooting down Italian fighters in a Martin Maryland and doing shit like doing multiple passes over the entire fully alert and shooting Italian fleet at Taranto because he didn't think he had enough photos. Even his death was ludicrous: He convinced Roosevelt's son to let him joyride a P-38 and disappeared over the Ruhr Valley.
