The reason we'll see them is that they're new and shiny, and we get two whole squads in the starter box. As long as they're not actual trash they'll see some use in lists. We've definitely seen a (converted or not) command squad out there so I'm not sure why you'd deepstrike the ranged ones with the praetor (other than having six of them in the starter box)
