Even assuming that Dess has turned into some kind of shadow monster and The Knight armor is some kind of exoskeleton she needs to survive, she still has to be a Lightner with a SOUL that possesses Determination to create a Dark Fountain. Darkners do not have Determination and cannot create Dark Fountains, which is why King and Queen have to rely on The Knight and Noelle instead of making more Dark Fountains themselves.
