I know this is a meme at this point, but was there ever a point in the story where there was ever a chance for romantic rival for Ichikawa?
I only started following this after the anime, but it seems even from the beginning the senpai didn't have a chance with Yamada always avoiding him.
There was no typical childhood friend either, seems like the story was always focused in these two.
