I stand by picrel as one of the best narratives in Vidya. It’s got an absolutely straightforward plot, but places that plot in a well considered world filled with well considered characters. Everyone’s interesting. The kingdom is interesting, in fact it’s one of my favorite fantasy settings ever. You’re there with Corvo when he loses his wife and daughter and the regent frames him so you give a shit about the mission. Even the kind of flawed chaos system is great between multiple playthroughs because it means the players choices connect the straightforward plot to the complex world and characters.
