Breakable weapons you can repair by dismantling other equipment / scraps that has a exponential scaling value loss (as in it takes significantly more to repair the more it's broken / lower durability) would absolutely have gameplay depth and you'll either sacrifice more valuables to keep using your one gun or spend less repairing 2-4 other guns that took more spread out durability damage.
Hell you don't even need them to break at that point, making 1% durability the lowest it goes with big ole downsides like damage/jamming/non-functional addons/ect with a massive repair cost would do it. You'd just need either vendor repairs (at an additional cost) or workbenches be the very few places you can repair your guns at.
