I’m in a weird situation in which I prefer the direction the mainline series is going in terms of gameplay and story, but not so much when it comes to Pokemon designs. I’ve felt this quite strongly in Gen 5, 7, and 9.

I used to heavily engage in this fandom too, almost exclusively, but I just couldn’t be arsed to post on forums or on this board during hiatuses like I did before. I can tell I used to be much happier with the series back then, and much more tolerant of what I didn’t agree with.

I can’t memorize any Pokemon names after Gen 4. The naming conventions have gotten THIS bad.
