I'm telling you man, people make fun of Arc's granny skirt and Aoko's plain clothes outfit but old TM simplicity is charming in its own right. Outside of some of the more outlandish shit like Ryougi's kimono+leather jacket+boots combo it's the sort of thing you could actually believe to see someone wearing on the streets of a Japanese town of the era, and even in Ryougi's case you might still imagine someone wearing it as a weird traditional/punk contrast fashion statement.

The remake designs are generally okay-looking. The only one that I think is absolute visual vomit is Ciel's. Arcueid's sucks because it misses the point of her original design, but the others don't really change enough to be outright awful. The Melty Blood and Carnival Phantasm designs are still better, obviously.
