Since we're on the topic of dropping redpills, I'll give some harder to swallow ones:
>TOP SECRET – BASED / REDPILLED EYES ONLY
Ideally one artist whose style you would like to draw like and who is professionally viable in Japan, the latter means his style has all the tools needed to express complex storytelling and a complex aesthetic and identity. Ever noticed how certain westoid artists draw women in the same blank face and soulless expression you could easily see on Instagram OF "models"? It's because their style literally lacks important functions and they don't watch/read enough Japanese material to even know the correct emotions to express.
You can use Hogarth or whomever for reference or inspiration but if you use it as a crutch thinking it's harder/correct and automatically gives you the ability to draw anime you'll only be able to draw like that (actually much worse) instead of drawing anime, and you will perceive anime as a simplification (extremely common mistake and the norm in the west) instead of its own thing.
Beware that glorifying non-[REDACTED] artists is a cope used by weaker people to [REDACTED].

Hi guys, I'm a beginner and I'm thinking about purchasing some Proko courses, but I saw a thread here discussing them and now I'm not sure if I should. I also saw some people saying they're really tired of observational drawing. I'm kind of new here, can you guys explain? Also, I mostly want to draw stylized art and characters. is the picrel true or fake?
