Yes, if after you do the slam and you're going to get hit (generally for overly aggressive enemies that you can't just wait out or stay far enough), you quickswap. S1 is a lot easier, but roccia has a lot of mobility in the air (as long as you don't touch the ground the state continues, even gliding/flying), AoE range so you don't need to stay glued on the enemy, and you recover the dodge while floating after each slam (that you can use multiple times in a sequence as you don't misdodge something).
