Agree with the "expertise" angle because the government and doctors literally just lied for random ass political reasons, and they walked back statements every week or two without explicitly admitting fault or taking accountability..

On a social level, if you were a young person during coivd, it was absolutely infuriating wasting your late 20s being locked up for what was perceived to be a contagious flu. No traveling, no dating, no meeting people, etc. All for these perceived to be bullshit political reasons, supported by people just because.

If you were older or threatened by the pandemic, you saw ppl who were against mask mandates as literally not giving a fuck about your health and wanting to kill you and your family, making you resent them.

Nuance was lost on both sides, and people are still bitter about it.
