I think your problem is you assume reddit narratives and diktats from fedora and pedobuntu are the final word.
Open source has a tendency to let better software succeed. Not all the time, sure. And there can be massive gayops that make shit get pushed through. But generally better stuff tends to get adopted because first hardcore autists start using it, then retards like gamers want it for muh fps, then distro devs start getting haggled, and on and on and on.
You've got all of corporate linux ramming their shit through, but more and more people are truly fed up with this, and more "community" distros are just increasingly chuddy, and increasingly popular and capable.
There's enough distro support behind Xlibre already for it to survive. They are already churning out updates, bugfixes, and new features. Insanely based fuckers like Artix are churning out live ISO's with it running their DE's. Believe it or not this has momentum and literally everything the naysayers have said about it has been wrong up to this point.
I think in a couple years it will be obvious the magnitude of the lies that we've been told for a decade about Linux. At that point the onus will be on us to ditch these lying faggots once and for all.

Thanks dude. Yeah I the responses I've gotten have been overwhelmingly in favor of switching to nogi, so whether its the time off or not, I'm gonna switch.
I think we're kinda agreeing. I think my big question would be, does nogi lend itself to learning more fundamental concepts easier? Without having to worry too much about the grip chains and related stuff (which I am BAD at, worst part of my game), I'm hoping other fundamentals become more front and center and rammed into muscle memory that won't go away as quickly. Or am I just fantasizing here?
