Who came up with his names? That always confused me ever since I read about it. I don't trust the sources. I just learned that there are some new interviews about it from a few months ago and I trust them even less now. Although I haven't put effort into reading them yet. For years it was said that the Japanese developers came up with the name Miles while Americans came up with Tails, which I never really trusted to begin with. Now Brenda Cook is claiming she's the one who came up with the name Miles Prower. She thinks they ignored her idea though, and they instead ended up calling him... Knuckles. Should we trust her? I don't think she remembers things very well. But there's also some Japanese interview that I can't read because they want you to pay to see it, which apparently says Naka first came up with the name "Mile". I think you're going to like this, apparently Judy Totoya wanted to call him Miles Power. But the Americans didn't like it so he changed it (back?) to Prower. Or something. The katakana they ended up using doesn't match either of those words anyways. It's all very confusing to me. I don't get it and I don't know who to trust. There's also the American guy who wanted to call him Miles Monotail and iirc he claims credit for the name Tails. I'm under the impression there were disagreements and conflicts going on during the development of Sonic 2, so different developers may have interest in taking credit for certain things, or maybe they just don't remember things well anymore. I suppose it's fair to call it a group effort but it would still be nice to have a decent timeline of events
