well thats cool to hear that, i suspect that in the last few years there has been a counter trend of people starting to push back against social media and i hope it gains more steam. i was super deep into because i grew up with myspace and then fb etc. but it wasnt until like 2020 i realized it had a bad effect on me. i really wish it would just go away entirely. i could write an entire academic paper on it but just think it fucked a lot of things up in society and we werent ready for it, somewhat like the internet in general. most people were pretty fucking normal still until around 2010-2012 but since about 2014 everything got weird. i think it took a while for the effects to play out.

my guess is even the XBOX which had way better online than the ps2 only had like 30% of the playerbase signed up for XBL maybe even less than that. Most people on here say that just played the ps2 offline and didnt even know many games had an online mode at all.

the internet has gotten exponentially worse over time and it isnt just from any one particular group. this is the number 1 graph on here you guys should be referencing when talking about how weird modern internet is compared to the past.
