Exact opposite way I play lol, I spam evos even on garbage if I am in a winning board state and use them to clear when losing neutral. Vlad feels like a brick when I tried him, but I will throw this out there, have you tried Arriet? She feels VERY good to me in this type of deck, the 3/3 early body actually helps without the Beryl cost and can heal in a pinch. Feel like she is helping me win a lot both on aggro and control games despite being a neutral card, but I also use Serpent's so need the health.
