Skill wise? Try playing characters that you can carry and/or don't die easily with. You're probably used to dying as a squishy often but your friends are smart enough to NOT become blind to everything else trying to get you up and die.
Mentally? Try playing more selfishly and go with the flow instead of trying to negotiate a perfect route with strangers and making yourself needlessly frustrated. You'll probably have to briefly break off alone to do a mine or some other easy objectives and THATS FINE. The game isn't so hard to require minmaxing every aspect of a run.
