Each character is a caricature of people that interact with art. The obsessed fan, the elitist critic, the sellout actor, the techbro richfag, and the mindless consoomer. These people distort what the art “should” be and cause the artist to sperg the fuck out and kill everyone, including his cult-like followers. This is portrayed as tragic and sympathetic, when it’s actually fucking demented.
And then there’s Margot, who is a stand in for the enlightened reddit viewer. Unlike the other diners, the redditor consumes art in the correct, authentic way, and gets to live.

In other words the entire message is reddit snark because it’s preaching to a reddit choir. It jerks you off and tells you that (YOU) are the real(tm) connoisseur, unlike those fake fans that are ruining art.
