GameCube has more memory than the PS2 and a Gpu that is like triple its size. The PS2 only had a slightly faster Cpu and it didn't even support any type of AA. But 3rd party games on GC did not sell, so devs did not bother optimizing but when it came to the PS2 devs went all the way and programmed on Assembly for for the games to be able to run on PS2 because the system has such big memory limitations and a garbage Gpu that was even inferior to what the Dreamcast had. And one thing you can be most sure of is that absolutely every developer hated the PS2 and its architecture and making games for it but they had to. 100 million PS2 vs 20 millions GC.

Gamepass makes makes no money just like Netflix makes no money. Running the operation costs more money than the profits it make.
