>I wonder if calling the Bible "the word of God" could count as idolatry
Obviously not.
"Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"
- John 10:34-36
In the above passage of John, Jesus directly equates the word of God to scripture.
"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."
- Acts 13:44-48
The word of God and the word of the Lord clearly refers here to the inspired word. See also:
"But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."
- 1 Peter 1:25
>Hebrews 4:12-13, I suspect might instead be about Jesus.
I understand Hebrews 4:12-13 to be referring to the word of God in either sense. You also see this overlap in places like Proverbs 30:4-6, Psalm 33:6, Hebrews 11:3 (comp. Hebrews 1:1-3 and 2 Peter 3:5) and Titus 2:5, and very interestingly, John 12:48. Obviously 1 John 1:1-2, Revelation 19:13, and others also refer to God the Son, Jesus.
>The abrupt shift from "it" to "him"
It makes sense because the word λόγος (logos) is masculine.

>What use is a deception if it is not effective?
The same reason why, according to the Bible, that satan tried to tempt Christ (see Matthew 4, Mark 1, Luke 4). He still tried to do it even though it was useless and futile.
As it says, "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD." (Proverbs 21:30).
>Look at how the churches and beliefs between Christianity, Islam, and Judaism invariably bicker. They judge and scoff and condemn one another over matters large and small.
Truth is not a democracy. What is true remains true even if very few are left to acknowledge it. Even if there are only seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal (1 Kings 19:18, Romans 11:4).
Second, worldly success is not a good sign of allegiance to the truth. See Luke 6:26, "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets."
Yet to those whom God entrusted to take His word to the world, He told them, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5:14).

>So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he does in all his letters.
Actually, anon, that's an inaccurate translation. More accurately, he said the following:
"Even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."
- 2 Peter 3:15-16
So as you see here, Peter describes the epistles of Paul specifically as "scriptures," in verse 16. And there is a separate word for more generic "writings" which he did not use here. This is a recognition of Paul's letters as being inspired, as well as the fact that the New Testament itself is considered to be part of Scripture, a fact which is sometimes denied quite irrationally by some people.
Also, according to the Bible, this epistle (2 Peter) was actually written by Peter, since it has his name in the first verse. To deny that then would be no different than rejecting the Bible.

According to the Bible there are plenty of tangible reasons to believe in God.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard."
- Psalm 19:1-3
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."
- Romans 1:18-21
"That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring."
- Acts 17:27-28
"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants."
- Psalm 119:90-91
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
- James 1:17

>That's messed up.
Nope, it's their own fault. When the Lord decides to give up on a person, that's when things like sodomy start happening. It's all because of what they did, and Romans 1 makes that clear. They brought the judgement of God on themselves. They are completely hellbound at that point, and no better than animals. The Bible even compares sodomites to dogs.
"There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God."
- Deuteronomy 23:17-18
Notice how sodomites are referred to as dogs in the Bible. Because, just as it says in Romans 1, God gave them up to a reprobate mind. Their future is an eternity of suffering and torment in hell and they will never believe the Gospel or be saved, even though that would theoretically save them.

>Where does Jeremiah say that the Aaronic priesthood will dissappear
What exactly does this mean to you.
>or it's fine to eat non-kosher food,
The law is something that stood to be fulfilled, and it WAS fulfilled by Christ.
>or that gentiles are grafted into Israel?
There are numerous references to the people of God that are realized in the New Testament. See these:
"This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD."
- Psalm 102:18-22
"A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this."
- Psalm 22:30-31
"I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
- Daniel 7:13-14
Another example is one that the apostle Peter brings up. He wrote: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." This quote contains references to two places in the Old Testament: Exodus 19:6 and Hosea 2:23. Paul gives us even more.
