I'm really into murder-suicide or double-suicide tragic endings between two characters who both despise and love each other. Been into pairings like RyoAki from Devilman and Charmuro from Gundam for over a decade.
Though I think a bittersweet ending is also cool. Like Spamton and Tenna finally talking to each other and getting closure but being unwilling to get back together so they move on from each other.
Fluff is still good though, when you've had enough angst and just want a brief moment of happiness where nothing goes wrong!

I mean, he disappears when you start the ERAM fight, whether you win or lose.
