Honestly, as a /lit/fag, I appreciate that.
There are still good books being published, they're just not usually from American authors (at least by large publishing houses)--Alt-lit is surprisingly still alive because of people who actually care, or at least appreciate the kind of underground "fuck you" element to publishing things the major houses won't touch. It's the American samizdat, basically. There's a rich moment of literary history going on under our noses and faggots at HarperCollins or Random House are going to see it washed over by the hundredth book about how white people are evil, and I feel like I'm sitting here bemoaning actual talent or record of their existence go out to sea.

I fucking hate publishing houses so much it's unreal. Teaching women to read was a mistake. Pic related.
