I was thinking, once robots reach a certain level of agency, they'll be so smart that regular animals will seem much less "alive" or "soulful" compared to them.
Animals are actually dumb as hell and simply respond to the stimuli in front of them. And since humans aren't that different, I can see a future where humanity willingly goes extinct in deferrence to the greater machine lifeform.
