just watched first two eps of world peas
what in the actual fuck were they thinking?
>zero absurdist kino camera angles
>writing is abysmal and just completely straight-forward rather than veiling it with three layers of meta irony and dogwhistles
>all of sam's sketches are total ass, literally just playing goldstriker in all of them
>zoomer graphics and earrape
the animation was nice. charls and nicks sketches were neither good nor bad, just mediocre.
nothing memorable
mde is fucking DEAD

another direct ruse vs. schultz comparison.
notice how ruse cares about the color of the set and wardrobe. it's shot in a real location with careful attention to details like all the boxes and papers. it takes advantage of sunlight and uses the blinds like a natural gobo to cast lines on the subject. and to really take it to the next level, ruse finds a high vantage point to shoot from. this required moving the camera in uncomfortable positions, possible having to stand on a ladder. the still also doesn't show that it's a continuous handheld shot from eye level to birds eye view in one take.
meanwhile schultz just shoots a basic chest level shot in a half ass set with light reflections in the background. the costumes are just whatever people want to wear or bought from goodwill. there is no care for any aesthetic. the lighting is basic eggcrate diffused softboxes that people use for porn and corporate shoots where they just want even easy lighting without thinking. should the character have a certain hairstyle or facial hair to match his character? no, just however the actor looks when he shows up is fine.
