Well of course, sure, AP will, I had FMJ on my mind since that's the readily available round for it. Point is, .338 is in a very poor state right now, thorax shots with FMJ are too unreliable, and you can crack skulls with any bolt action, the biggest benefit of .338 is superior ballistics for 500+ meter shots, but that's obviously a niche playstyle. For general use you might as well run a .308 rifle for a fraction of the price.

.338 AP is pretty fun. It's nice not having to worry about the enemy taking the bullet with his plate, but man, using it really reminded me how fucked the zeroing system is. He was 410m away, if I had my scope zeroed for 400m I'd have had 1.2 mils of drop, I had to zero for 450m to hit dead center. The ~50m/s gap between FMJ and AP really makes a huge difference, it's definitely not as noticeable on .308 snipers.
