the only real answer in this godawful thread
when it was allowed people to tear down the walls between real life and fictional life and viceversa they allowed a mindset that doesn't accept anything other complete and total submission to treating fiction as an extension to reality and treats the fictional characters as real people when its clearly not the case then it only got worse with vtubers when they are real people acting as fictional characters.
