its not strickly a "western manga" problem. 95% of stuff I see on all these comic sites are just not engaging. i never go on the manga scans sites either because all the ones I read are finished or on indefinate hiatus. bad art, bad composition, bad whatever never bothered me. The stories of these artists /ic/ included bore me to tears, or insult me with their pandering coomer trite. no engaging story, no motivation, no rhyme no reason nothing important to keep me invested
