I'm killing Cerberus and I keep dying because the ghosts don't make any sense to me

All guides say the ghosts attack seqentially, so I should pray them in 1, 2, 3 order, right?
But I've died TWICE now where after the first ghost attacks, the third one attacks me next, and the second ghost is last one to attack.
I take a massive 60 damage and and because I have to do this retarded fucking prayer juggling, cerb does its own attacks, dealing damage straight through.
