It's hilarious how fans complained about the Dune meets Starship Troopers plot of the Monster Hunter film only for Wilds to be unimaginably worse and kinda proving the point about what a conventional "hunting monsters because muh family died or some shit" movie would look like.

The Minecraft movie was as huge hit. The Monster Hunter film failed at the box office. They're both fairly similar projects, but I think maybe the problem is that Monster Hunter takes itself too seriously. It should have had a B plot where Meowscular Chef is transported to the human world and a woman falls in love with him. Monster Hunter isn't an IP you can pull an Enemy Mine with. It's a dumb as rocks Japanese hack and slash game.
